The grantee, Armenian Committee of Helsinki Civil Assembly NGO (HCA Armenia) will bring together 8-10 translators of Turkish language and organize a literature workshop in Armenia to co-translate contemporary writer Birgul Oguz’s novel “HAH” from Turkish into Eastern Armenian.
In addition, 3 recognised instructors and distinguished professionals in literary translation and the author of the book herself will take part in the workshop, which will primarily focus on developing the skills of translators through the means of collaborative literary translation methods. In the long-term perspective, broad literary dialogue will give a new awakening to the Armenia-Turkey normalisation process to overcome the stereotypes in the modern Armenian society.
