The project aims to contribute to increased dialogue and partnership among the faculties of educational institutions and students of social sciences from Turkey and Armenia. The grantee, Okan University
, in partnership with the Imagine Center for Conflict Transformation, will build the capacity of a group of young professionals and students from Turkey and Armenia via integrating conflict transformation practices into their professional and academic plans.
The project will empower the participants through fostering their role in promoting a culture of dialogue and tolerance in relations between the two societies. The project will engage at least seven students and young faculty members from both countries who will jointly participate in two week-long conflict transformation schools in Yerevan and Istanbul respectively. As a result of the project, the participating young faculty members and students will become a part of an inclusive discourse in the Armenia-Turkey relations, and will develop an increased awareness of the largely marginalised peace and conflict transformation narratives.
