The film festival project aims to contribute to the enhancement of cultural relations between Armenia and Turkey through engaging students and young professional cinematographers from Armenia and Turkey into cross-cultural dialogue initiatives

The grantee, the Armenian Foundation for Promotion of Cinema and TV for Children and Youth “Rolan Bykov” Foundation, is the organizer of the ‘Rolan 12th International Film Festival for Children and Youth’ that will take place in Yerevan on November 5-9, 2016.

The Festival is supported by a number of local and international donors and sponsors. The grantee will partner with the Turkey-based “Iron Bird” Association for Art and Social Projects Research and the “Agenda is Child” Association to bring together young cinematographers, film directors and scriptwriters from Turkey and Armenia.

This constituency will be able to participate in Festival’s workshops, round-table discussions and master-classes in Yerevan, as well as in Shirak and Lori regions of Armenia. Interaction among participants during these activities, film screenings and follow-up discussions will necessarily engage them into a dialogue on human and professional levels, which may grow into sustained partnerships and friendships.
