Turkish-Armenian Dialogue and School of Discourse Transformation begins on January 12

A winter school entitled Turkish-Armenian Dialogue and School of Discourse Transformation will be organized by Okan University (Turkey) and its partners in Armenia.

The winter school will take place both in Yerevan and Istanbul from the 12th to 21st January 2015 and will bring together 14 students and academicians from Yerevan State University and Okan University.

A winter school entitled Turkish-Armenian Dialogue and School of Discourse Transformation will be organized by Okan University (Turkey) and its partners in ArmeniaThe winter school will take place both in Yerevan and Istanbul from the 12th to 21st January 2015 and will bring together 14 students and academicians from Yerevan State University and Okan University.

 

The winter school is made possible through cooperation between Umut Azak from Okan University’s Department of International Relations, Yerevan State University, the Imagine Center for Conflict Transformation and Association of Young Historians in Yerevan. It will enable participants from both counties to attend dialogue and conflict resolution seminars but also various events in Istanbul and in Yerevan. These seminars and events will provide opportunities for a peaceful dialogue between the parties in addition to establishing contacts for a longer-term interaction and cooperation between the academic staff and students of the two universities.

 

One of the events to be included in the Istanbul program of the winter schools is “The musical journey from Armenia to Turkey” that will be held on January 18 at the Cezayir Meeting Hall in Galatasaray, Istanbul. Murat Meriç , a prominent DJ and music writer will be the guest speaker of the event.

 

Turkish-Armenian Dialogue and School of Discourse Transformation   is a grant project funded under the Support to the Armenia-Turkey Normalization Process supported by the European Union.
